“Mend what is broken and try to make America strong again,” said Christopher Johnson, Roanoke.
With protests and marches, people are looking for one thing, to come together as a country.
“I think the first year or two is going to be rough, with everyone trying to warm up to him but I think once he gets into office and shows us what he is going to do, it should get better,” said Christopher Johnson, Roanoke.
Supporters of Trump like Daniel Highberger says he hopes Trump can keep the promises he made during his campaign, such as creating jobs in the country and making our borders stronger, and protecting the rights of the constitution.
“I really want to see a president and a Congress, put America first like they said they were going to do,” said Daniel Highberger, Roanoke.
Highberger watched the inauguration and says he feels good knowing his vote won, and has faith his choice for President.
“I think it’s a beautiful day to be an American,” said Daniel Highberger, Roanoke.
And as Donald Trump steps into the role as President of the United States, the whole country will have to wait and see what these next four years will bring.
