ROANOKE COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — Local fire departments participated in the National Fallen Memorial Service held in Emmitsburg, Md. on Sunday, Oct. 6.
Eight active and retired members of the Roanoke County Fire & Rescue Department attended the service that honored 92 firefighters who died in duty in 2018 and 27 firefighters who died in previous years.
The Roanoke Fire-EMS Department was represented by Lt. Kaylor and FF Winter as members of the Honor Guard at the memorial service, according to the department’s Facebook page.
