Local businesses raised money for the Montgomery County Christmas Store & Dine.

The Christmas store is a volunteer, community based group that offers holiday shopping to low income families.

The owner of John’s Camera’s and Record’s, John E. Kline, said, “We’re doing 10 % of our record sales toward the Christmas store. It’s pretty cold out, we haven’t had a lot of people, but we’ve sold a couple hundred dollars worth. The Christmas store is a good thing. I’ve lived here all my life practically, I know the Christmas store has helped out a lot of families.”

The following businesses are participating in this fundraiser:

  • Bollo’s
  • Cabo Fish Taco
  • Capone’s Jewelry
  • Fringe Benefit
  • Gillie’s
  • Gourmet Pantry
  • Johns Cameras and Records- 10% of our vinyl record sales
  • Next Door Bake Shop
  • Real Life Dental
  • Sugar Magnolia
  • T.R. Collection

The money will go towards helping the Montgomery County Christmas store meet its budget of $256,000. The money is used to buy new winter clothing, new toys, new teen gifts and food for a Christmas meal.

The Christmas store will be open for eligible shoppers November 4 to December 8.
