This 5 year old boy has one wish for Christmas.
For every child to have
“Happiness,” said Alex, Wonder Bear Project.
and that happiness comes in the form of a wonder bear.
“Cause my wonder bear makes me happy, so I think all the other kids would be happy,” said Alex, Wonder Bear Project.
Last year on Christmas Eve, Alex and his family visited the Ronald McDonald House.
“When he found out that some children were not able to have Christmas, he said, but mommy I have money can I give them Christmas,” said Missy Light, Alex’s mom.
So this year, Alex is collecting bears to give to little kids who are less fortunate.
“It was in my brain for a very very long time,” said Alex, Wonder Bear Project.
“So I put it on Facebook thinking that maybe a few of our friends would help us and give him some bears to take to different places and the response is just so overwhelming,” said Missy Light, Alex’s mom.
With seven drop off locations in the Roanoke Valley and more than 100 bears already collected, Alex’s mom couldn’t be prouder of her son.
“He wants to make kids happy. That’s all he cares about. He wants everyone to wake up on Christmas morning and have a wonder bear,” said Missy Light, Alex’s mom.
And even though Alex thinks his bear is a super hero,
“He has super powers, He can fly up really high,” said Alex, Wonder Bear Project.
It’s Alex who is the real super hero in helping kids in the community have an awesome Christmas.
Alex is looking for new teddy bears in any shape or size. He will be collecting bears until December 22nd when he and his family will hand them out at the Rescue Mission, Carilion Children’s and the Ronald McDonald House.
