ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — With heavy rainfall and strong winds expected to move across the region, several events have been canceled due to safety concerns.
Here is a list of events that have either been canceled or postponed due to the Tropical Storm Ophelia.
- Virginia Tech Softball game: The Salem Parks and Recreation announced that the Virginia Tech vs. Fayetteville Tech softball game was canceled. The two teams were supposed to battle at Kiwanis Park on Sept. 23.
- Lynchburg Cider, Wine & Cider Festival: The Lynchburg Beer, Wine & Cider Festival announced on its Facebook page, that the festival will be rescheduled to Sunday, Oct. 8. Event organizers said all pre-purchased tickets will be honored.
- Hispanic Culture Festival: The 3rd Hispanic Culture Festival was canceled. Event sponsors FloydCARE shared that the event will be rescheduled; however, a date has not been announced.
