UPDATE: Lanes reopened, minor delays on I-81 South in Botetourt County after vehicle crash

UPDATE 12:48 p.m.: VDOT says all southbound lanes have reopened on I-81 following a vehicle crash near mile marker 160 in Botetourt County, causing delays to shrink to one mile.

UPDATE 11:34 a.m.: According to VDOT, traffic is now backed up for five miles from the scene of the vehicle crash at mile marker 160 on I-81 South in Botetourt County.

BOTETOURT COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) says Botetourt County traffic is backing up on I-81 South following a Wednesday morning vehicle crash.

According to VDOT, the southbound left shoulder and left lane are closed at mile marker 160 on I-81 due to a vehicle crash.

VDOT says southbound traffic is backed up for approximately three miles due to the crash.
