Kroger’s Mid-Atlantic headquarters to leave Roanoke for Richmond

Local News

ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — Kroger announced plans Tuesday morning to relocate its mid-Atlantic headquarters from Roanoke to Richmond.

The departure from Roanoke will be complete by the end of this year, the company says. Despite the headquarters relocation, warehouse operations, logistics, and district leadership will remain in Roanoke.

“As we prepare for this next chapter in our division, we want our associates and communities to know that we’re committed to a safe, seamless and positive transition,” said Paula Ginnett, president of Kroger Mid-Atlantic. “This is not a goodbye to Roanoke because we will remain committed to the region and we will continue to support our associates, customers and community partners throughout the area.”

About 100 associates will be impacted by the transition from Roanoke to Richmond, Kroger says, adding that opportunities have been created within the company to “ensure that its approximately 100 associates have options through this transition.”
