Juvenile male killed in Roanoke shooting

ROANOKE CITY, Va. (WFXR)- Roanoke City Police said a juvenile male is dead after a shooting Wednesday night.

It happened at the intersection of 13th Street SW and Chapman Avenue SW. Several roads are blocked off as police investigate.

A 911 emergency call came in before 10 p.m. and officers were quick to respond. Officers were in the area and heard the gunshots.

According to officers on scene, investigators have a suspect but no one is in custody. Officers also said they couldn’t confirm how many shots were fired, but multiple shell casings were found on the ground near the incident.

Investigators believe this is an isolated incident and that the public does not need to be worried.
