Jennifer Woofter has announced her candidacy for the Virginia House of Delegates, District 22 for the upcoming November 2019 election.
Woofter has the intention to seek the Democratic nomination.
She is the president of Strategic Sustainability Consulting, an environmental and social strategy firm. She also serves on the boards of the James River Council for the Arts and Humanities and Grassroots Local Market, and is the Co-Chair of ROSEL’s List, a nonprofit dedicating identifying, mentoring and electing women to positions of leadership in Central Virginia.
The mom of three also is a member of Lynchburg City Schools Equity Task Force and a facilitator for Bridges to Progress.
The former foster parent currently serves as a Court Appointed Special Advocate for children in the foster care system.
Woofter lives in Lynchburg with her husband and three children.
