House declared total loss after early morning fire in Elliston

Multiple fire crews responded to a mobile home fire in Elliston early Wednesday morning. 

The fire broke out in the 1000 block of Brake road, just after 4:00 a.m. 

Crews from Christiansburg were called out to assist Elliston’s fire department. Roanoke County fire crews were also dispatched to help with the fire.

Roanoke County sent fire crews from the Fort Lewis, Masons Cove, and North County stations. 

The flames were under control in 10 minutes. According to a Roanoke County fire spokesman, there were reports of a person trapped inside of the home, but there was nobody inside the house. 

Montgomery County fire officials are investigating the cause of the fire.
