The law firm overseeing the investigation into a controversial photo surrounding Gov. Ralph Northam will share their findings Wednesday.
Eastern Virginia Medical School hired McGuireWoods law firm to figure out if Gov. Northam was in a photograph on his yearbook page, either as a man wearing blackface or another in a KKK robe.
According to the Associated Press, yearbook staff members have disagreed over whether the photo couldmistakenly have been put on Northam’s page. Thousands of letters and emails were sent to alumni requesting information for the investigation.
Northam initially said he was in the image, but later denied being either man. Since an infamous press conference back in February after the photograph surfaced, Northam has been focusing on signing legislation passed by lawmakers in Richmond. Many times, theEastern Shore Democrat has dodged questions about the controversy surrounding.
“I have participated in that investigation and until that’s complete, I won’t have any further comments,” Northam said last month in Portsmouth.
In a previous statement, Vincent Rhodes from EVMS said the college has “no limits on the scope of the investigation and has committed to making the results of the investigation public.”
EVMS will be holding a press conference Wednesday at 10:30 in the morning at the school to release the findings of the investigation.
