FRANKLIN COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office celebrates National Night Out by highlighting their K9 Division.
The K9s in this program train to follow the trail of a missing or wanted person, alert on drugs, and protect their deputies. Meanwhile, deputies train, exercise, and care for their K9s.
The department’s K9s also participate in community events with church, civic, non-profit, and other outreach programs.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, every K9 deputy says their families are a vital part of the love and care each dog gets. The sheriff’s office wants to thank the deputies and their four-legged partners for all the help they give the department.
Franklin County Sheriff’s Office will continue celebrating National Night Out through Thursday, August 13.
