UPDATE 12:51 p.m. — Galax City announced on Facebook that public schools will be dismissed at 1:30 p.m. on Friday.
In addition, all afternoon and evening activities hosted by Galax City public schools are cancelled for the day.
(WFXR) — Due to impending weather, public schools across Floyd County will dismiss early on Friday.
According to Floyd County authorities, the outlying schools will release students at 11:30 a.m. while the town schools will dismiss at noon on Friday.
Meanwhile, Floyd County High School has postponed any activities related to winter homecoming until further notice.
Grayson County and Carroll County schools have also announced 12:30 p.m. dismissals for Friday.
