The rainy weather has led to flooded roadways and bridges across the region. Power outages have also been reported in the valley.

2 – 5″ of rain have already fallen in some areas across Southwest Virginia. With this in mind, flash flooding is possible into Sunday.

Most of the flood reports have been coming out of Franklin County, many of them from the Callaway area. Here are just some of the impacted roadways:

  • Portions of Callaway Road in Franklin County
  • Old Forge Road
  • Ferrum Mountain Road
  • Madcap Road
  • Deyerle Knob Road
  • Hickman Road
  • Several low water bridges were also flooded along Madcap Creek

More than 500 people are without power in Franklin County near Wright. The cause is a tree leaning on a powerline. Power is expected to be restored around 5:30 p.m. on Saturday.

More than 900 people are without power in Bedford County. This included portions of Bedford, Lowry and Goode. No word on if weather is a factor in this power outage.
