The weekend’s flooding in Lynchburg has put many basements totally under water.

Residents are calling in record number to companies like SteamWay to help them recover.

Owner Thomas Rogers says that his crew of 17 is working late into the night to keep up with demand.

He adds that, for the sake of your house, to do what you can before the professionals arrive.

“You can buy any microbials at Sam’s, at Lowe’s – apply that onto something. You should have a dehumidifier, some fans to move air. There’s lots of ways that a homeowner can mitigate or minimize the impacts of water loss.”

Rogers says to make sure to clean the underside of carpets to protect against mold.

He adds that this is one of the busiest times he’s seen in 32 years, and that his waiting list is five pages long.
