FOREST, Va. (WFXR) — An equipment fire that spread to a ventilation fan at the Hanwha Azdel plant has caused extensive damage, according to Battalion Chief Jackson, with the Lynchburg Fire Department.
A call came into dispatch at 6:56 P.M. on Friday, Sept. 22, reporting the flames in one of the buildings. Three ladder trucks, Six engines, two ambulances, and three chiefs rushed to the scene, said Chief Jackson.
The Hanwha Azdel plant does have its own maintenance crew, said fire officials, so it’s unclear if it will be closed. As of Friday night, there’s also no word on how much the damage could cost.
