Elliston area home a total loss after overnight fire

ROANOKE COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — A home in the Elliston area is a total loss after an overnight fire, according to the Roanoke County Fire & Rescue Department.

The fire department said the fire broke out around 12:30 a.m. Thursday morning.

Units arriving to the scene came across a bridge that was out and had to cross a creek to reach the home. Station 9 in Fort Lewis and Battalion Chief 1 responded to the scene and received assistance from Montgomery County crews.

There were no injuries. Crews were on the scene for about two hours.
