Driver trapped in vehicle after hitting telephone pole in Bedford

BEDFORD COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — Members of the Bedford Fire Department responded to a car crash that left a a driver trapped inside their vehicle.

The Bedford Fire Department posted on Saturday, Feb. 22 that firefighters and medics were dispatched to the scene of a single motor vehicle crash with entrapment at 5:12 p.m. at the intersection of Forest Road and McGhee Street.

The first crew on the scene reportedly found a heavily damaged SUV that had struck a telephone pole, trapping the driver inside. According to the Bedford Fire Department, rescue units stabilized the SUV, removed the driver, and turned the driver over to medics.

The extent of the driver’s injuries is currently unknown.
