Driver gets out of vehicle before it gets hit by an oncoming train in Henry County

HENRY COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — A driver was able to get out of their vehicle before it was struck by an oncoming Norfolk Southern train in Bassett on 1455 Philpott Drive in Henry County on Monday, Feb. 10 around 7 p.m.

According to Shelby Crouch, the public relations coordinator for the Virginia State Police, the vehicle was stuck on the tracks when the train hit the car and pushed it into a nearby creek.

The driver was not injured. WFXR has reached out to Virginia State Police to learn more about how the driver exited the vehicle.
