Deschutes Brewery is holding several events in Roanoke this week as it gears up for its Street Pub event this weekend.
The brewery hosted a progressive dinner Thursday night that allowed people to sample several varieties of Deschutes’s beer at five different restaurants. The restaurants also prepared their own dishes to pair with each beer sample.
Organizers say events like this help introduce people in Southwest Virginia to Deschutes’s beer.
“The reception in Roanoke from this community has been absolutely amazing,” said Angela Korish, experiential marketing manager for Deschutes Brewery. “It’s been so fun, and we’re really excited for Saturday to have a great turnout, pour a lot of beer, have a lot of fun and raise some great money for the city of Roanoke.”
On Saturday, Deschutes will set up a 200-foot-long pop-up pub on Jefferson Street from 2 to 10 p.m., Korish said. Live music and local food vendors will also be on hand.
