DANVILLE, Va. (WFXR) – Police in Danville are investigating after a report of a shooting into an occupied residence.
According to Danville Police, the incident happened in the 100 block of North Avenue just after midnight Tuesday morning.
When police arrived, they found a house which was occupied at the time by two adults and two young children, had been shot into multiple times.
Police are saying that it appears the shooting took place from the roadway. No other house had appeared to have been hit.
A child inside of the house sustained a scratch that did not require hospital transportation.
Police say it is unclear if the child’s injury was caused by flying debris, a bullet or bullet fragment.
Nobody else in the house was seriously injured.
Detectives and crime scene investigators processed the scene and canvassed the neighborhood looking for additional clues into the shooting.
If anyone in the neighborhood has any surveillance cameras that may have caught anything around the four-block radius around that time.
