DANVILLE, Va. (WFXR) — The Danville Police Department has added another tool to its training toolbox with the addition of a simulator, which assists with officer’s decision-making skills.

The Milo Range Simulator recreates realistic and stressful situations that give trainers an opportunity to test whether an officer’s response is aligned with the law and the department policy, according to a statement from the department.

The software “provides hundreds of complex dynamic video training scenarios, graphics-based firearms skill-builder drills,” according to the manufacturer.

The tool serves the department’s training on de-escalation and “less than lethal training.”
