At least two gas stations in Vinton have gas priced at just $1.94 a gallon. That’s well below the national average of $2.49.
“It’s really nice to see this time of year with the holidays coming up and such because definitely every little bit helps,” says Val Trivellin. “To be able to fill up my entire tank for under $30 is pretty awesome.”
Rhonda Justis was at the Exxon station down the street, but the line was a bit long so she drove to BP instead. Both gas stations, located in Vinton, had gas priced at $1.94.
“It’s been a long time. Real long time,” says Justis about the last time she purchased gas for under $2.00
“It’s also very handy when you only get paid every other week. And it’s payday today. My fuel light just came on from the last payday so this is awesome,” says Trivellin.
“I love it,” agrees Justis.
“And it’s really awesome that all of this is happening in our little Vinton,” says Trivellin. “I just think it’s wonderful that they’re taking advantage of this. And that so many people are supporting them. It’s the smaller businesses. So it’s really good for the smaller businesses.”
“Everyone come to Vinton to get your gas,” Justis says.
Good advice, but those lines at the gas pump might be getting even longer.
