UPDATE 4:20 p.m.: An earlier crash creating heavier traffic along the southbound side of I-581 has been cleared.
VDOT is reporting traffic is moving normally around this area.
ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) – A vehicle crash on I-581 in Roanoke is creating slow traffic for commuters.
The crash is located in the southbound lanes at mile marker 2.2 between the Valley View and Orange Avenue exits.
VDOT is saying the crash has closed the southbound left lane and left shoulder.
Backups are reported to be approximately one mile.
Drivers should consider finding an alternate route while the crash is being cleaned up.
