UPDATE: Crash cleared on Route 220 in Franklin County

UDPATE 6:10 p.m.: VDOT is saying the earlier crash on Route 220 north in Franklin County has been cleared.

Residual backlogs can still be expected the next little bit, so if you’re traveling on this section on Route 220 north between Rocky Mount and Wirtz Road, expect delays.

UPDATE 5:55 p.m.: VDOT is saying that all northbound lanes of Route 220 are closed in Franklin County due to a crash.

The crash is between the town of Rocky Mount and Wirtz Road.

FRANKLIN COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) – A vehicle crash has closed multiple lanes of Route 220 north in Franklin County north of Rocky Mount.

According to VDOT, the crash has closed the left lane, right lane and right shoulder of Route 220 near the intersection with Bonbrook Mill Road (Route 635) between the town of Rocky Mount and Wirtz Road.

Drivers should expect delays and should consider finding another route around this crash.
