Claytor Lake State Park officials are offering people free parking in exchange for a Christmas Tree donation.

Park officials are collecting the trees as part of their annual “Christmas for the fishes” event.

They ask that you drop off your used trees at Claytor Lake State Park in the marked area in the launch ramp parking lot. The trees need to be real and free of lights, tinsel, and ornaments.

The deadline to drop off your trees is January 8.

The official date for “Christmas for the Fishes” will be Wednesday, January 9, with a weather date of January 16, according to FOCL Friends of Claytor Lake.
