CAMPBELL COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — Virginia State Police (VSP) says a 72-year-old motorcyclist has passed away after a crash in Campbell County on May 21st.
Around 9:30 a.m. on Route 615, Bennie L. Franklin, 72, from Rustburg was driving a 2014 Harley-Davidson Ultra Limited north when he allegedly crossed the center line, ran off the side of the road, and hit a mailbox.
Franklin died at the scene.
VSP says a female passenger on the motorcycle was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
The motorcycle crash remains under investigation, but a medical emergency is being investigated as a possible factor.
