HALIFAX COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — Bullying can cause the target child physical and psychological harm and negatively impact their success in school, according to health officials.
Halifax County Middle School will host Jodee Blanco, a New York Times best-selling author and bullying expert, to share practical advice for adults on how to intervene when bullying occurs.
During the 90-minute family workshop, Blanco will share her own experience as a target of bullying as a child and the way her parents and teachers responded, including ways that were not helpful, according to the school.
Families including children are encouraged to attend this free event.
The seminar is scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 28, from 6-7:30 p.m. at Halifax County Middle School, 1011 Middle School Circle in South Boston.
