Bedford County Public Schools announce interim superintendent

BEDFORD COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — The Bedford County School Board unanimously approved Dr. Julia Rogers as the school system’s interim superintendent.

Dr. Rogers is a retired English teacher and has served as a principal at the elementary, middle, and high school level. With over 33 years of experience, she worked as a director of instruction and assistant superintendent for instruction and human resources.

Dr. Rogers earned her administrative leadership doctorate from the University of VA and has since then worked in all areas of Human Resources, student health/discipline/attendance, transportation, and school/district budget development.

Additionally, Dr. Rogers has served on committees for local universities including Central VA Community College, Governor’s Schools, VA School-University Partnership, and OCR compliance.

Dr. Rogers is taking over for former superintendent Dr. Doug Schuch.
