BROOKNEAL, Va. (WFXR) — Firefighters responded to Sugar Hill Road after a barn caught fire on August 19.
The Brookneal Volunteer Fire Department Inc., says around 5:13 pm., crews were dispatched to Sugar Hill Road to assist with a residential structure fire. When the first crew arrived, they discovered a barn fully covered in flames with fire spreading to the wood line.
First responders worked quickly to contain the blaze; however, the barn and items inside were a total loss.
Units stayed on the scene for an hour and a half before returning to service.
The details of what led to the fire are unknown at this time.
