HIGHLAND COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — After being put on pause for two years in a row due to the pandemic, the Highland County Maple Festival is back this year!

Come out and see how syrup is made via traditional and modern techniques, try tons of food, listen to live music, and learn about the history of the Highlands.

This year, the Highland County Maple Festival will feature 10 sugar camps the public can tour — for free!

There will be entertainment including live music, dancing, and even a viewing of a 1921 silent film during the four-day festival.

In 1999, the Library of Congress designated the Highland County Maple Festival a “Local Legacy”.

This year’s festival will be two weekends — March 12-13 and March 19-20.

You can visit Highland County’s Facebook page for information on events and schedules.
