Police investigating after teen boy found dead in Covington Thursday morning

COVINGTON, Va. (WFXR) — Police are investigating after a teenage boy was found dead in Covington Thursday morning.

According to a statement posted on the City of Covington Facebook page, at approximately 7:22 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 25, the Covington Emergency Medical Service was dispatched to 201 E. Prospect Street for a report of an unresponsive 14-year-old boy who was not breathing.

When EMS providers arrived, they discovered the boy had died at some point during the night, authorities say.

The Covington Police Department and Virginia State Police are reportedly investigating to determine the cause of the boy’s death.
