ALLEGHANY COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — A joint investigation is underway into a student disciplinary incident involving a pellet gun in Alleghany County.
According to a statement released by Alleghany County Public Schools and the Alleghany County Sheriff’s Office, the incident happened on Tuesday, June 7, while a bus was making its afternoon run from the school board offices in Low Moor — where alternative education students are housed — to Alleghany High School.
Officials say the school district and the sheriff’s office are investigating this as an isolated incident, adding that no injuries were reported and there’s no ongoing threat.
“The high level of cooperation between school officials and the Alleghany County Sheriff’s Office led to the incident being resolved safely and effectively,” Tuesday’s statement said.
The parents of any students who were known to be aboard the bus have already been notified by school staff.
According to officials, multiple minors have been taken into custody and charges are pending in connection with this incident.
