HIGHLAND COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — A Highland County School Board meeting scheduled for Wednesday has been canceled.

In a Facebook post on the Highland County Public Schools page, officials stated the cancellation was due to a board member being quarantined.

The school board was expected to meet Wednesday, Sept. 8 after officials voted to postpone the start of school until Oct. 1 as they discuss the district’s COVID-19 mitigation plan.

School officials plan to announce a new date Wednesday.
