Covington to hold virtual Christmas Tree Lighting for 2020

COVINGTON, Va. (WFXR) — Covington Parks and Recreations will continue the City’s Christmas Tree Lighting tradition on Sunday, but the annual event will look different this year.

Due to impacts and restrictions from the COVID-19 pandemic, the Covington Christmas Tree Lighting will be live-streamed on Facebook and will not be an in-person event.

The live stream will begin at 5:45 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 29, with 15 minutes of Christmas music before the lighting of the tree, which will take place at 6 p.m.
