Covington Schools to continue remote learning until after Thanksgiving

COVINGTON, Va. (WFXR) — Covington City Public Schools will continue virtual learning from Monday, Nov. 16 through Tuesday, Nov. 24.

Schools are closed for the Thanksgiving holidays from Wednesday, Nov. 25, through Sunday, Nov. 29.

Schools will reopen for in-person learning on Monday, Nov. 30, if COVID-19 conditions are “determined to be appropriate for a healthy and safe environment” for students and staff.

On Friday, Nov. 6, a positive coronavirus case involving a staff member was reported. As a precautionary measure, the school system operated on a remote learning schedule from Monday, Nov. 9, through Friday, Nov. 13.
