Clifton Forge Police search for ‘armed and dangerous’ man after report of robbery

CLIFTON FORGE, Va. (WFXR) — Police in Clifton Forge are searching for a man they say has been involved in a robbery, after stealing a firearm from a vehicle and taking another vehicle using that firearm. He is considered to be “armed and dangerous.”

Police say the initial incident took place on McCormick Boulevard on Friday, Jan. 15, when a person reportedly broke into a vehicle and stole a firearm.

Then, according to police, shortly afterward on Rose Avenue, the individual used the stolen firearm to obtain a vehicle.

The individual fled in a 2003 silver Ford Escape with Virginia tags 5523LM, heading north on Route 606 toward Bath County.

This individual is said to be a man, approximately 5’10” tall, and is between 20 and 25 years old.

At the time of the robbery, he is said to have been wearing an orange sweatshirt and black pants.

Police say this man should be considered armed and dangerous. If you see him, or the vehicle he is said to have stolen, do not approach. Call 911 or the Alleghany County Sheriff’s Department’s Emergency Dispatch Center at (540) 965-1770, ext. 100.
