4th suspect arrested in deadly Roanoke County robbery

UPDATE (7/3/18): New York State Troopers have taken 47-year-old Andrew Jeffers into custody. 

Jeffers was wanted for his involvement in a murder and robbery that happened in the Cave Spring area on Overland Drive on May 19th. 

Jeffers was one of four suspects involved in the robbery done bad. 

He was taken into custody July 1st after state troopers received a tip he was hiding out in the Hilltowns of Albany County. 

He is awaiting extradition back to Virginia. 

UPDATE (6/5/18): According to the Roanoke County Police Department, Shamby Walker has been taken into custody on Tuesday.

Walker was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Service, Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force, in Roanoke City without incident.

She was turned over to Roanoke County Police and is currently being held at the Roanoke County/ Salem Jail.

Andrew Jeffers still remains at large.

UPDATE (6/4/18): Roanoke County Police are searching for another person in connection to the May 19 homicide in the 5200 block of Overland Drive.

Andrew Arthur Jeffers is being charged with second degree robbery and second degree burglary with the intent to commit robbery.

He is described as a white man with blue eyes and shaved blonde hair. Police said Jeffers is 6’4″ and 285 lbs.

Officers are also still looking for Shamby Marie Walker.

Roanoke County police are investigating a homicide that happened this past weekend.

Two people have been arrested in connection to this crime, but officers are still looking for a female suspect.

During the investigation it was discovered that three people set up a robbery in the 5200 block of Overland Drive on Saturday, May 19.

When the robbery was happening, one of the suspects brought out a gun and Amber Ross of Franklin County was shot. 

A man in the home took Ross the emergency room and then fled. A witness saw the man’s license plate number which led police to the 5200 block of Overland Drive.

Evidence collected led officers to the 700 block of McDowell Avenue NW where two people were arrested on May 22. 

27-year-old Aaron Witcher and a 17 year old boy were arrested. 

Police say Shamby Walker, who is the third suspect, is still on the run.
