PITTSYLVANIA COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — Virginia State Police are investigating a crash that claimed the life of a 22-year-old man on May 22 in Pittsylvania County.

According to State Police, around 1:10 p.m., on U.S. Highway 29, near Dewberry Road, James Gabriel Jackson Jabari, 22, from Haymarket, was driving a Ford F-150 south when he allegedly ran off the right side of the road. Investigators say Jabari overcorrected and crossed into the median when the Ford overturned and ejected him.

Jabari was taken to the Roanoke Memorial Hospital, where he passed away.

Investigators say he was not wearing his seatbelt. WFXR News will update you as details are released.
