100,000 bouncy balls drop from the ceiling to celebrate the year to come!

ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR)– Today, around 2000 people showed up to Roanoke Valley Family Magazine’s New Years at Noon event at the Berglund Center.

It’s not a traditional family holiday so we wanted to create something  that was safe, fun, and non-alcoholic for families to put their kids into to celebrate a holiday that is not traditionally celebrated with kids.

Josh Eagan, Roanoke Valley Family Magazine Publisher

The event had a plethora of activities for the kids to enjoy: bounce houses, magicians, face-painting, games, and so much more!

The main draw of the event was the countdown that led to the release of 100,000 bouncy balls from the ceiling of the Berglund Event Center.

The release was a site to see. Kids picked their favorite of the six locations, waiting patiently for the drop and then scurried to collect all the bouncy balls.

Josh Eagan, Publisher of the Roanoke Valley Family Magazine said that this event would have not been made possible without generous sponsors.

WFXR was proud to be one of those sponsors for today’s event.
