Liberty students receive pillows from MyPillow inventor

LYNCHBURG, Va. (WFXR) – Liberty University students started classes on Monday, August 19. While this time is usually seen as stressful, they received a comfortable surprise.

12,000 pillows filled the arena seats for the first Convocation of the 2019 – 2020 school year. The pillows, collectively worth $600,000, came as a gift from MyPillow inventor and CEO Mike Lindell.

Lindell spoke with students about his past struggles, including decades of drug addiction and failures in the business world. He admitted that for many years after he founded MyPillow and wanted to use it to honor God.

During the Convocation ceremony, Lindell was presented with an honorary Doctorate of Business.

His company employs 1,600 workers and has sold over 41 million pillows since its founding in 2004.
