LATEST: Virginia’s Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control has partnered with Roanoke County Police to investigate Monster’s Bar and Grill.
The investigation comes after one person was killed and 10 others were wounded following at shooting at Monster’s.
Alcoholic Beverage Control said there are no pending charges or warnings against the establishment, but the business has only held a liquor license since October 2015.
UPDATE: 9:36 PM – Roanoke Police say Jermaine Leonard Brown of Roanoke was arrested this evening. He is charged with murder and malicious wounding. He is being held at the Roanoke City Jail.
UPDATE: Authorities have identified the man who died as Jermaine Lynn Black, 26, of Roanoke. At least ten others are injured after a shooting at Monster’s Bar and Grill.
A statement from Roanoke Police said officers were in the area ‘monitoring exterior activities’ after receiving an unknown 911 call.
Officers heard shots fired inside the building, then saw people running out of Monster’s Bar and Grill and driving away in several cars.
The statement from RPD said Roanoke Fire & EMS took several shooting victims to the hospital; several other shooting victims later drove themseleves to local hospitals.
Authorities said one shooting victim found inside the building was dead, that person’s name has not yet been released.

As of 7:20am Sunday, part of Orange Avenue in the city of Roanoke was closed as police investigated a reported shooting at the Monsters nightclub.
Orange Avenue was closed from 13th Street to Hollins Road.
The incident at the club happened around 3:00AM.
Police have not said if any one was hit or injured.
