JUST IN: Homeless man arrested outside of Lynchburg City Hall, possessed gun

LYNCHBURG, Va. (WFXR) – Just before 9 a.m. Wednesday morning, Lynchburg Police responded to 900 Church Street for a report of a man in the restroom with a gun bag.

Luther Scott, 52 of Lynchburg who is homeless entered City Hall to use the restroom. Officers took Scott into custody and charged him with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Scott is now barred from all city buildings.

He is being held at the Lynchburg Adult Detention Center without bond.
