More than 200 people coming together Saturday morning to honor the dying wish of a 94-year-old WWII veteran.
Carlos Showalter had asked for as many veterans as possible to meet at New Freedom Farm for breakfast Saturday morning.
He unfortunately passed away Tuesday, but countless WWII veterans, friends, supporters, and Marines – ranging in age from 19 to 87 – came anyway to honor the late hero.
All enjoyed a free breakfast – courtesy of Mission Barbecue – and showed what kind of impact Mr. Showalter continues to have on the community.
