ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — Hollins University’s new student apartment village will open Monday, August 26. The village is the first new student housing in 50 years, the university says.
Students are expected to begin moving into the new apartments at 2 p.m. Monday. In total, there are four “houses” included in Phase I of the apartment village, according to the university. The school added that the new housing would bring students closer to classes, dining, athletic events, and other activities at Hollins University.
Buildings in Phase I have eight units with 12 double rooms and 16 single rooms. Each building can house 40 students. The university said a second phase of construction set to begin soon will add six more buildings featuring 12 units, 16 double rooms, and 24 single rooms. A total of 56 students can stay in each building constructed under Phase II.
