Hit-and-Run suspect caught on camera

LYNCHBURG, Va. (WFXR) — A driver was caught on camera hitting a vehicle on Cobbs Street then leaving the scene.

Lynchburg Police are asking for the public’s help identifying the driver of the Chevy Suburban.

Authorities say the SUV also hit an occupied car, not long after the first incident, on Oakley and Memorial Avenue.

The Chevy should have damage to the passenger’s side rear bumper from the first incident, and the driver’s side front tire and door from the second incident. A piece of black plastic step trim was also found on the scene of the second hit and run.

Police believe the suspect vehicle has a partial tag of either 5809 or 5080, and there may be a letter “Y” in the tag.

The driver is described as a black man with shorter hair.

Anyone with possible information is asked to call the Traffic Safety Unit at (434)-455-6047.
