(WFXR) – Sovah Health has provided a video update on the latest information about the status of its hospitals in Danville and Martinsville.
In the video, which can be viewed below, hospital officials say that both the Danville and Martinsville hospitals are on diversion, which is relatively normal as all hospitals, from time to time, go on diversion when a large group of people are needing hospital care while their hospitals have been dealing with staff issues.
Sovah Health says they do not provide updated information about their diversion plans because they change hour-to-hour as hospitals go on and off of diversion as the situation needs.
They say that if you need emergency care, you should not hesitate in getting that care.
Hospital officials say that, as of Wednesday, Oct. 27, they have just under 30 patients that are hospitalized due to COVID-19. Of those, around 80 percent are unvaccinated.
They continue urging everyone who has yet to receive the COVID-19 vaccine to get one.
Officials are also urging everyone to continue masking and adhering to social distancing guidelines to help to limit the further spread of the virus.
