(WFXR) — Ferrero U.S.A., Inc. is recalling its Kinder Happy Moments Chocolate Assortment and Kinder Mix Chocolate Treats basket because of the possibility of Salmonella.

Salmonella can cause serious and even deadly infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Symptoms of Salmonella include fever, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain. It can even cause more severe illnesses such as arterial infections, endocarditis, and arthritis.

Ferrero says they are recalling the product out of caution because there have been reports of Salmonella in consumers in Europe. People who have bought the affected product should not eat it.
