VDH sees 2,544 new COVID-19 cases, reporting 213,331 total cases statewide Friday

RICHMOND, Va. (WFXR) — As of Friday morning, Virginia health officials reported a total of 213,331 COVID-19 cases and 3,912 virus-related deaths, which includes 2,544 new confirmed and probable cases and 16 new confirmed and probable fatalities around the Commonwealth.

The Virginia Department of Health (VDH) confirmed 191,971 cases and 3,605 deaths are related to the virus as of Friday, Nov. 20. However, 21,360 cases and 307 deaths are still reported as “probable.”

According to VDH’s Friday tally, more than 29,000 cases have been reported from the following localities in southwest and central Virginia:

  • Alleghany County: 262 cases, 16 hospitalizations, and 6 deaths
  • Amherst County: 710 cases, 29 hospitalizations, and 6 deaths
  • Appomattox County: 371 cases, 22 hospitalizations, and 6 deaths
  • Bath County: 48 cases and 1 hospitalization
  • Bedford County: 1,660 cases, 67 hospitalizations, and 18 deaths
  • Bland County: 113 cases, 4 hospitalizations, and 5 deaths
  • Botetourt County: 676 cases, 32 hospitalizations, and 13 deaths
  • Buena Vista: 209 cases, 8 hospitalizations, and 1 death
  • Campbell County: 1,006 cases, 33 hospitalizations, and 12 deaths
  • Carroll County: 822 cases, 60 hospitalizations, and 29 deaths
  • Charlotte County: 266 cases,25 hospitalizations, and 4 deaths
  • Covington: 112 cases and 4 hospitalizations
  • Craig County: 79 cases and 3 hospitalizations
  • Danville: 1,492 cases, 141 hospitalizations, and 47 deaths
  • Floyd County: 303 cases, 14 hospitalizations, and 15 deaths
  • Franklin County: 1,374 cases, 52 hospitalizations, and 12 deaths
  • Galax: 518 cases, 45 hospitalizations, and 30 deaths
  • Giles County: 223 cases and 8 hospitalizations
  • Grayson County: 477 cases, 37 hospitalizations, and 21 deaths
  • Halifax County: 758 cases, 20 hospitalizations, and 12 deaths
  • Henry County: 1,688 cases, 165 hospitalizations, and 39 deaths
  • Highland County: 14 cases
  • Lexington: 315 cases, 6 hospitalizations, and 2 deaths
  • Lynchburg: 2,446 cases, 73 hospitalizations, and 27 deaths
  • Martinsville: 608 cases, 75 hospitalizations, and 24 deaths
  • Montgomery County: 3,581 cases, 53 hospitalizations, and 13 deaths
  • Nelson County: 159 cases, 10 hospitalizations, and 3 deaths
  • Patrick County: 415 cases, 62 hospitalizations, and 27 deaths
  • Pittsylvania County: 1,565 cases, 99 hospitalizations, and 21 deaths
  • Pulaski County: 505 cases, 36 hospitalizations, and 11 deaths
  • Radford: 1,085 cases, 22 hospitalizations, and 2 deaths
  • Roanoke City: 3,772 cases, 124 hospitalizations, and 66 deaths
  • Roanoke County: 2,460 cases, 63 hospitalizations, and 28 deaths
  • Rockbridge County: 214 cases, 9 hospitalizations, and 2 deaths
  • Salem: 791 cases, 31 hospitalizations, and 18 deaths
  • Wythe County: 530 cases, 36 hospitalizations, and 7 deaths

Health officials say they have received 13,914 total records of confirmed and probable virus-related hospitalizations around Virginia as of Friday.
