RICHMOND, Va. (WFXR) — The Virginia Department of Health (VDH) reported 1,324 new COVID-19 cases and no new virus-related deaths as of Monday morning, bringing the Commonwealth’s total coronavirus count up to 93,106 confirmed and probable diagnoses and 2,218 confirmed and probable fatalities.
Virginia health officials confirmed 89,602 cases and 2,108 deaths are related to the virus as of Monday, Aug. 3. However, 3,504 cases and 110 deaths are still reported as “probable.”

According to VDH’s Monday report, more than 6,300 COVID-19 cases are from the following localities in southwest and central Virginia:
- Alleghany County: 56 cases, 5 hospitalizations, and 3 deaths
- Amherst County: 118 cases and 6 hospitalizations
- Appomattox County: 71 cases and 7 hospitalizations
- Bath County: 4 cases
- Bedford County: 307 cases, 16 hospitalizations, and 6 deaths
- Bland County: 7 cases
- Botetourt County: 192 cases, 15 hospitalizations, and 7 deaths
- Buena Vista: 48 cases and 3 hospitalizations
- Campbell County: 157 cases, 7 hospitalizations, and 2 deaths
- Carroll County: 314 cases, 29 hospitalizations, and 14 deaths
- Charlotte County: 49 cases and 4 hospitalizations
- Covington: 12 cases
- Craig County: 16 cases and 1 hospitalization
- Danville: 344 cases, 38 hospitalizations, and 7 deaths
- Floyd County: 39 cases, 2 hospitalizations, and 1 death
- Franklin County: 160 cases, 8 hospitalizations, and 1 death
- Galax: 338 cases, 37 hospitalizations, and 22 deaths
- Giles County: 23 cases and 2 hospitalizations
- Grayson County: 134 cases, 8 hospitalizations, and 4 deaths
- Halifax County: 141 cases, 5 hospitalizations, and 1 death
- Henry County: 511 cases, 58 hospitalizations, and 6 deaths
- Highland County: 3 cases
- Lexington: 33 cases and 1 hospitalization
- Lynchburg: 469 cases, 20 hospitalizations, and 2 deaths
- Martinsville: 171 cases, 26 hospitalizations, and 3 deaths
- Montgomery County: 280 cases, 17 hospitalizations, and 3 deaths
- Nelson County: 34 cases
- Patrick County: 115 cases, 24 hospitalizations, and 3 deaths
- Pittsylvania County: 375 cases, 27 hospitalizations, and 2 deaths
- Pulaski County: 75 cases, 9 hospitalizations, and 3 deaths
- Radford: 26 cases and 2 hospitalizations
- Roanoke City: 909 cases, 19 hospitalizations, and 11 deaths
- Roanoke County: 456 cases, 13 hospitalizations, and 7 deaths
- Rockbridge County: 67 cases and 1 hospitalization
- Salem: 139 cases, 5 hospitalizations, and 3 deaths
- Wythe County: 108 cases, 11 hospitalizations, and 3 deaths
The department has reportedly received 8,018 records of confirmed and probable virus-related hospitalizations across Virginia as of Monday.
